I was offered to continue my Hooves and Horns show at The Padre Hotel by just replacing the pieces that have sold. I have three new paintings in mind and began the first today. I spent almost 7 hours in the studio painting with a friend who was working on his own piece for another show. I got a lot of the first painting done.

We will be back at it tomorrow… Here is a progress picture. I don’t have a name for it yet, but it should all come together tomorrow.

I was contacted by the Bakersfield Museum of Art to participate in an art exhibit for the summer of 2013. The show was quite challenging. I was the fifth artist in the project. Each artist is to write a page of a story 50-80 words and create a piece of art on a provided 20×20 wood panel to illustrate the narrative. You are given only pictures and narratives of the art that precedes your piece. Your narrative can introduce characters and change the story on the turn of a dime.

I chose to finish one chapter and leave it wide open for the next artist. I also introduced the main character as an unnamed woman. This was a great idea and so much fun. Oh! and the kicker you are given 96 hours to complete your project. I can’t wait to attend the opening on June 27th, just four days before my birthday. I hope to see you there!

Today I heard that one of my very first abstract paintings, “Heaven,” is going to a new home! This is so exciting. This piece will reside in a gentleman’s study here in Bakersfield, CA. I now consider this client a collector as they now own two of my pieces. What a great day! Good bye old friend…

These two paintings sold to a client in Los Angeles, CA this week. What a wonderful surprise to hear they would stay a pair! “Did You Hear That?” and “Wild Horned Sheep”, both 11×14 on canvas.  Many thanks to Don Martin of Metro Galleries!
