I grew up in the little-big town of Bakersfield in California’s Central Valley. My self-taught talents grew with help from the encouragement of my family and friends. I posess a self-driven spirit and never say die attitude, which keeps me a very busy woman…
I started painting at the age of 10, and never stopped. It relaxes me and takes me on a mini-vacation from reality. Once my talent was realized, my mother kept me busy painting murals around the house. I took my first commercial mural job at the age of 15 and painted 26 characters over two walls in a baby nursery. Through the years I have painted with many different styles and themes.
My most recent and proudest accomplishment in the arts community was opening and running a local gallery for three years with friends in downtown Bakersfield called The Foundry. The Foundry was a contemporary space and an artist club with over 100 artist members. Running a gallery, surrounded by so many talented people was a dream come true.
Between my my day job as a commercial insurance broker, my art, three beautiful girls and a happy husband I’d say my life is pretty “Sweet.”
