This was released appropriately enough 49 years ago to the day from our show opening, December 6th, 1964. Artists were given the choice to create their pieces “misfit” as the program had them or traditional. Do you not remember this classic? You can check it out here: Artwork by Jesus Fidel.

Last but not least we had a window installation showcasing studies by Betty Leonor. You can find her artwork at She is an amazing portrait artist that works in oils and acrylic.

The Foundry closed on January 1st, 2014 after a six month financial struggle to keep the doors open. Our monthly cost went up substantially and we gave it all we had. Looking back a month and a half later, I find myself with “extra” time I didn’t know existed before. I visited Betty’s solo show at Metro Galleries on February’s First Friday event. On one hand it was nice to be able to walk around and visit the artists, but my gallery was dark and sad.

Nice quote sinan. I think those who are defrefint just for the sake of being defrefint is equally as laughable as those who are all the same. The key is to understand what you are doing instead of blindly following the trend. I agree to cuiyao that lolita are no defrefint from others, there are good and there are evil. Never stereotype others merely based on how they dress like.I don’t particularly appreciate lolita but I respect them. Afterall, we live our own lives and no one else is in the position to judge others on that.
